The Lion Lords of the Post-Apocalypse

a giant mechanized lion colossus looms over a sorceress

The young sorceress Ibala was rescued from a ravenous Tyrannosaurus (far left) by the legendary Leonine Colossus rider Antonu. After a series of adventures, they married and became the most powerful Lion Lords in the Midwest. Leonine Colossus were built in former Dynamic Motors plants to protect the agrarian fiefdoms. These regions had been plagued by raiders and genetically engineered terror weapons, such as tyrannosaurs, for decades. The old android guardians had proved insufficient security. Within twenty years, the Leonines dominated three former states.

Lords of the Post-Apocalypse Amazon

The Moth

The North American elite fled to the jungles of Amazonia during The Fall, establishing their own high tech enclaves in the wilderness, sending out airships to kidnap and enslave survivors as necessary.

The most dreaded of them was known only as The Moth, a cybernetically enhanced and utterly ruthless warlord who amassed a vast fortune in advanced nanotech.

His right hand man was General Agares, a former marine, who benefited from longevity treatments developed in Amazonia's secret biolabs.

General Agares

His army of mixed tech enforcers, known as Jungunares, were feared throughout the river basin; they struck quickly at night from silent dirigibles, and were often gone by the time alarms were raised.

Mecha & motorcycle gangs of the post-apocalypse

After The Fall, mobility was key to survival. Motorcycle gangs allied with rogue mecha, performing resource gathering for them, along with repairs and screening the huge mecha from smaller scale, agile threats, in exchange for annihilating the main opposition.

The Lost Library of Hyperborea

Underground library at bottom of rift
Swythe surveying the discovery of a lifetime: the long lost Library of Hyperborea

The arctic bunker systems were greatly expanded after The Apocalypse by borerwryms, bioengineered creatures that devoured rock, and were used to create ten thousand miles of interconnected chambers and tunnels that ran beneath the length of North America.

The Great Library of Hyperborea was lost when the underground civilization collapsed, along with all its knowledge.

Five hundred years later, a fissure opened up in the earth's crust, shattering the communities on the surface. When the rent in the earth was eventually explored by adventurer Ardwin Swythe and his team of Spelunks, they rediscovered the lost library and a world of knowledge that would ignite a New Enlightenment.

Decontamination team scours the derelict ruins of Grand Central Station

Decontamination team sweeping through Grand Central Station
Interior of Grand Central Station in the Post-Apocalypse

The Alpha-4 decontamination team was an elite unit from the Jersey Arcology Pyramid. Armed with energy weapons and sealed inside biopsy-suits, they hunt down and eliminate fungal infected organisms.

The team is backed up by an enormous Mark III Urban Combat Robot (rear, centre) equipped with ultraviolet floodlights, flamethrowers and heat rays.

The Mark III was an old but reliable model with a more sophisticated sensor set than the Mark II. Its mere presence would stiffen the spine of any human troops nearby. This particular model, nicknamed Funfry, has a visibly tattered flexi-ceramic outer hull, but the framework is intact and reinforced with the ablative armour kit.
